Yesterday and today I published my first two short stories on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Smashwords. You can read more about them on the short stories page of the website. It’s an exciting moment for a new indie author to have those first works out the door!
These two short stories are ones that I wrote some time ago, so you’re actually getting a glimpse into my writing from several years back ;-) I have several other short stories that are in varying stages of completion that I hope to be publishing in the not-too-distant future. I’m also part way through a draft of my first novel. The novel in particular has been on a rather long journey through the years. I think I started it the first time when I was sixteen or seventeen, and I cringe to think of how bad it was. I still remember posting the opening chapters at the Online Writing Workshop and getting my first critique–egads, what an eye-opener! Of course I certainly don’t claim to be a master wordsmith now, but I think I can safely say that my writing is a lot better than it used to be. I’m really excited about the new version of my novel (I think I started from scratch for the . . . fifth? . . . time), and I look forward to being able to share that with you once it’s finished.
