March writing (lack of) progress

Posted by on April 1, 2013

The first two months of the year were a delightful flurry of writing activity for me, and I was able to make great progress towards my yearly goal.  It’s a good thing, too, because there are some months where there just isn’t as much time to be found and the writing productivity takes a bit of a dip.  Or a lot of a dip!  March was filled with lots of fun things, lots of busyness, and consequently less writing.  Thus, we have:

March, 2013:  5,739 words

The good news is that I’m still ahead of my yearly goal pace, because I’m sitting at around 53,000 words, which is over a quarter of the way there.  I’ve got big plans for April:  I’m currently finishing my fifth short story, after which I’m also going to be releasing my short story collection that packages all five stories together.  At some point I’m going to put together a print edition of the short story collection, but I’m not sure if I’ll do that right away after it comes out or if I’ll wait a little while before I do it.  After the short story is finished, then it’s back to the novel, where I’m over halfway done.  That means it’s all downhill from here, right?  I’ll let you know how that’s going next month  :-)
