Third quarter writing progress

Posted by on October 30, 2014

I’ve decided to drop down to a quarterly report with my writing progress updates.  A cynical person would suggest that I’m dropping down to a quarterly report to disguise the fact that I haven’t been making much writing progress lately.  A generous person would suggest that I’m dropping down to a quarterly report so that my other blog posts aren’t dwarfed in a sea of writing update posts.  There’s probably some truth to both  ;-)  Life is certainly very busy these days (when is not, right??) and I still haven’t settled back into a regular writing routine yet after the twins were born in May.  I’ve made some bits of progress here and there, though.  Slow and steady is the name of the game.  Definitely slow.  Sometimes steady  :-)  But I’m hoping to get back into a much more regular writing routine during the last few months of the year.  Wish me luck!  But for now, we have:

Third quarter, 2014:  10,156 words

All of these words were progress on The Emerald Veil, which is chugging along.  I’m still hoping that I’ll have a miraculous burst of productivity that will enable me to finish my rough draft of The Emerald Veil by the end of the year, but it will likely slip a month or two into 2015.  We’ll just see how it goes.  I’m having a blast writing it, though, and I’m looking forward to being able to share it with you!

I’ve also been putting together a new cover for Shattered that will be debuting in the not-too-distant future.  While I liked the original cover at the time I designed it, I’ve come to believe that it just doesn’t tell enough of a story or even really reveal what genre the book actually is.  I think my new attempt does a better job on both of these counts.  I’ll post the updated cover here on the blog before I update on Amazon to give you all a sneak peak first and so that you can let me know what you think.

That’s all for now . . . thanks for tuning in, and happy reading!
