January writing progress

Posted by on February 16, 2014

I’m a little late getting to the monthly writing update this time . . . you blink once or twice and somehow it’s already the middle of February.  Crazy!  January saw me finish the rough draft of Shattered and make good progress on the edits.  I’m finishing up my first-round edits now, and soon the novel will be off to the editing team.  In terms of word count, my January progress was:

January, 2014:  8,447 words

Not the flashiest start to the year, and for those of you who are accomplished at division, I’m already behind the average pace needed to hit my 200,000 word goal for the year.  But it’s still early, and word count progress does tend to be slower while editing, so I’m not too concerned.  I’m looking forward to getting Shattered out there for you all to read!  I’m guessing that it’s going to be late March or possibly early April when it’s ready, but it’s in the pipeline.

I hope that you’ve all had a great start to the new year and that you’re happily devouring some great new books!  Let me know if you stumble on any gems–I’ve always got my ears to the ground looking for a great new read!
