Last night I completed the first draft of The Awakening, which checked in at just over 140,000 words. This novel has been floating around in my head for something like fifteen or twenty years now, so it’s an absolute thrill to have a draft of it finally completed! I’m also excited to get started on the editing process, as well as to get started on the second book in the Mirynthir Chronicles in the not-too-distant future. Book Two is tentatively titled The Emerald Veil, and I have a pretty solid plan for the plot. I’ll let you know more once there’s more to know. But for now, it’s off to make The Awakening as good as it can be! I’m still planning for a summer release, although allowing a realistic amount of time for edits more than likely will mean a July release date rather than June. But we shall see.
