New short story: The Star of Amalore

Posted by on April 15, 2013

April has been a great month so far for writing progress.  I’m continuing to make great progress on my novel (definitely accelerating towards the home stretch now), and I also took the opportunity to finish up the last of the short stories that I have planned for the short term.  The Star of Amalore is another slightly longer short story (coming in at around 9,400 words).  Here is the official description:

Kirian awaits his execution with but one hope remaining for survival:  that he will be chosen as a companion by the Star of Amalore, to guard and protect her just as she protects the city of Amalore with her power.  When the Star denies him, Kirian hears her refusal as the toll of the gallows-bell, not realizing that a deeper intrigue is at work and that he has been chosen for service after all—for service that may yet grant him life, if it doesn’t kill him first.

The Star of Amalore is available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Smashwords, and it should be arriving at Kobo, Apple, and other e-retailers soon.
